Charcoal. Not too exciting or successful, but incredibly fun. Four hours time. Approx 18x24.

This is kind of a character.
And it’s kind of painted in Merlot.
Room temp.
I suppose it’d be silly to re-post this onto my art blog, so I’m just gonna reblog it from my personal blog. So here we are, in all it’s entirety.

Based on this song. May be years old.

When I was younger, I used to spend hours in the bathroom I modeled this after. I used to come up with wild stories and scenarios. The bathroom was no longer the bathroom: it was a bedroom, kitchen, apartment, dorm, camp -somewhere I knew well, somewhere I knew not at all. I brought in toys, I ate my super on the toilet seat (I know, I know), and on a few occasions, slept on the floor.
There was nothing particularly interesting about the bathroom. It was merely small and contained the least amount of distractions -and considering we had four bathrooms, and four people total in that house….who’s gonna distract me?
On March 25, it will be exactly six years since I lost that refuge. It has yet to be replaced, and I feel the effects every day.
